Earth Hour

On Saturday, March 27, we turned off the lights in our homes for an hour.
We also invited our partners within the Erasmus + project to take part in the Earth Hour initiative.
Switching off the lighting is only symbolic, it expresses the belief in positive change. However,
Earth Hour is no longer about one o'clock a year. You can help our planet in your daily life.

On June 10th we had the opportunity to observe a partial solar eclipse, which began exactly at noon and lasted until 1:35 p.m. in the afternoon.

On this occasion The Observatory in Banská Bystrica was prepared to join the observation of the eclipse on the main square. There were prepared binoculars for the visitors, pupils from different schools, through which it was possible safely observe the eclipse. Children had the opportunity to observe this interesting phenomenon through binoculars but also through special glasses.

At the same time, the ninth grade pupils have prepared mathematical tasks for younger classmates.
